Cancer tumours are usually named after the part of the body where the cancer first began. The name does not change even if the cancer spreads to another part of the body.

Words of hope from a Survivor! check out the video..........
My name is Regina Savage and I have been a Dragon Boater here in Southern California for 8 years!!  I started as a Breast Cancer Survivor and have not only stayed with that, but built my own team of All Cancer Survivors and a Coed Team as well.  I paddle on both.  We have traveled and raced in China, Canada, Arizona, California, Nevvada and I have raced in Hawaii and Taiwan.  It has been the best experience in my life.  I am with the NAC Dragon Boat Team in Newport Beach, California.

So recently, I wrote a book!!  The book has been published and is for cancer survivors!  It is a very unique, never been done before approach to surviving cancer and includes a chapter on dragon boating and its importance in my recovery!  This book is a hands-on, attitude adjusting, humorous book on conquering this disease and living your life.  It is all about drawing your emotions in the form of hair on your mirror!!  It is for those who have lost their hair and for those still with hair and it even comes equipped with markers to start you mirror makeovers right away!!

The name of my book is:
"Mirror Makeovers and Savvy Insights for the Everyday Gal Surviving Cancer and Baldness with a Sense of Humor"
I have also written and produced a music video with music from KT Tunstall.  I have used her song, "Suddenly I See" to direct a very powerful, upbeat video that also features ....Yep...Dragon Boating!!!  Just a small amount..but shows the important effect it can have!!  The name of the video is simply "Power"

You can watch the video on my website at www.QuietAngelPubli shing.com or it is currently on YouTube.  The YouTube link is:

Now I know that if you are not already a cancer survivor who paddles and is reading this message, you are a son, or daughter, or sister, or husband, or brother, or friend of someone who is a survivor!!  So, I am inviting you to watch the video, buy the book, and support some very important charities.  In my experience as a dragon boater, this is one charitable group that always seems willing to help each other out.

During my treatment, I attended a retreat called "Healing Odyssey" this retreat, even though at the time I went kicking and screaming, was the best thing I ever did during treatment.  It is a retreat that deals with your fears, your anger, you emotions and it needs our help!!  In these hard times they are having a hard time surviving and I want to give back.  They have scholarships for women to be able to go and get through this terrible disease and I want to help women to be able to continue being a part of these retreats!!!  And the other charity is AWOL - A Way of Life After Cancer.  This retreat is for after cancer, when you have gone through the worst time of your life and then are all of a sudden left with what to do, how to feel, and how to move forward...and again they need our help!!!  They are both really amazing..and I have attended both and hope to help others to attend as well!!

So...my fellow dragon boaters...take a look at the video (it will show you how the book works as well) and then hop on the website and buy a book....you will be doing something good today!!!  By helping others and giving back!!!

Thanks for your time and consideration!  If you like it...please spread the word!!!!

My best to everyone!!!

PADDLES UP!!!
